Isn’t is lovely when a toddler dances without a care in the world, arms flailing, bouncing etc, even at 5am when you just want to sleep! Jossy came in with us in the early hours and by six thirty I was struggling to hold her back. Never ever give them your mobile phone people, ever, they are very clever these children, what unfolded this morning is testament to this.
Joss is talking away ‘on the phone’ “Lo?? Nanna? Toby? (our dog) Mammy? Finally…Daddy?” when I hear a real person’s voice muffled, in my bed.
“Hello Central Taxis can I help you?”
Argh, she’s made a call to an actual real person!
We both got such a fright that Joss burst into real sobbing tears and I hung up.
About ten seconds later I get a text, your taxi has been booked from Gateshead, this is an automated message. What the hell? How did she book a cab?!
I called them back, they laughed and said because I’ve booked from that number before it was just an automated response. I forgot all about it, ten minutes later I got another text, your taxi has been dispatched, your driver’s name is Michael, car Silver Astra.
And then another, and then another, a total of 14 texts all picking up from various parts of the city, over the course of three hours, driver names Sandra, Clare, Arlen, Dave, Mark…!
I called them again, they said no cabs had been dispatched thankfully, but since our call their systems had been a bit off, and that ladies and gents is how not to start your week, busting a large taxi firms booking system!
oh fab my kids never did anything that bonkers but my daughter did read inappropriate texts… now I PIN lock my phone!
Eek! Yep I can think of a few things I wouldn’t want a littley to read!
HA! I love this! Typical that you break the system At least it wasn’t the police
I can confirm that no calls were made to 999 but you’ve got me thinking now, got to be more careful!
Oh that’s brilliant! R (3 in Feb) called my Mum (thankfully!) a couple of weeks ago. She’s not on speed dial so to this day I have no idea how he managed it but I, very stupidly, left the cordless phone in his room before he went down for lunchtime nap. My Mum called me on my mobile 30 mins later to tell me about it!!
Haha what tinkers they are!
Oh God that would really really stress me out. Sounds like a problem with their system as a destination wasn’t given. Aaron loves playing with my phone. Glad I don’t have a taxi number in there. He’s called his Grandma quite a few times LOL xx
I have put a lock on the phone now, a bit of a pain for me but it was v stressful!
That is so funny – thank goodness the taxi firm were cool. It’s amazing what kids can do. Loved reading this #funee
For a heart racing few moments I thought all 14 taxis were whizzing round the North East!
I love it! Way to make you wake up!
LOL that really is funny but bet it wasn’t at the time. Glad the taxi company were ok about it and didn’t try and charge you.
I felt so bad worrying all these drivers would be dispatched but we quickly stopped that, it was just that by then we’d broken their system!
hahah, my little one seems to like the number 9!
This has made me laugh so much I’m crying! To make matters worse as parents we will never learn! Ethan has once called 999 and I only knew when I heard someone say “What’s your emergency?!” I was so embarrassed I just hung up the phone. Then yesterday suri confirmed to call someone called Andy when Ethan was playing on the phone again. Could have been worse it could have been his aunty in Australia! See we never learn!
